  1. Probing In Counselling The fourth skill is probing or questioning. Probing is asking questions or making statements that will hopefully encourage the client to open up about his or her life and discuss the issues that are occurring. When using this technique it is important to remember not to push the client because if you push them by probing into their life to aggressively or rapidly firing questions at them then they will shut down the process or refuse to continue with the counseling session. The fifth skill is summarizing. It is helpful to summarize the previous session with the client to make sure that they have overcome any challenges that were previously discussed and while in the current session you have provided the client with a topic to focus on. 2. Applebee's Evaluation Essay examples Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood As my girlfriend and I pull into a crowded parking lot during a chilly Friday evening, we struggle to find a spot of our own, but manage to do so as we take the place of another young couple as they pull out to leave. I put the car in park as we both gaze at the numerous parties walking into the restaurant. A bright sign, hung lit overhead, shining the phrase "Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill" atop a red brick building. Awnings were placed above every window, and resting on the ground, between each window, was a wooden park bench surrounded by lush, green foliage on either side. The whole place looked as if it had been pulled straight from a friendly neighborhood in the heart of the big apple. I...show more content... I was already pleased with the experience thus far, but it would only get better upon meeting Sheila. "Hi guys, welcome to Applebee's, my name's Sheila. I'll be your waitress tonight. Is there anything I can get you guys to drink?" A very cliché, and well rehearsed line, but it was pleasantly delivered, and I did in fact feel welcome. She was quick to the table, adding to the speed of the service that we were already receiving. I ordered my usual tall glass of water with a single lemon wedge, and my girlfriend asked for a classic lemonade. She promised that they'd be right out, and within minutes, I heard the clinking of ice, as two oversized glasses, dripping with condensation were placed onto our table. Sheila laid down some straws and asked if we were ready to order. I informed her we'd be needing a moment, as there were so many menu items, and my mouth watered for such a variety, I needed more time to choose. She smiled and left us to decide as she politely greeted a new party that was walking through the door. I was highly impressed with the staff here. They added to the warm and inviting ambience commonly experienced at Applebee's restaurants, and I was loving every minute of it. Our minds were made up, as I decided to press my luck with one of Applebee's own signature classics, Fiesta Lime Chicken. My girlfriend chose to play it safe and went with a mundane order of chicken strips ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  3. Educational Assessment Essay Assessment is the systematic collection, review, and use of information about educational programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning and development (Palomba & Banta, 1999). Educational assessments are carried out to measure the efficiency of the program, the quality of instruction and progress of a child's learning. The purpose is to determine the growth and development. There are several kinds of assessment carried out during a student's learning. These include the placement assessment, formative assessment, and summative assessment. Learners coming into the kindergarten class are often given a pre test or a placement assessment to evaluate what the learner may already know or think about content that is to be...show more content... How much each child has improved over time, gives the educators an opportunity to recognize what modifications are needed to improve the student's achievement. e.g. if a child knows the uppercase and lowercase alphabets very well then the teacher can move on to sounds of the alphabet. On the other hand if the child is struggling to identify the alphabets then the teacher has to come up with alternate ideas to modify her lesson plans. The school carries out assessment twice a year. The mid year and end of the year assessment shows that the expectations from the kindergarteners are slowly raised keeping in mind the consistency of the curriculum and the objectives. An end of the year assessment clearly shows the child's expected familiarity and independency in the subject. Objectives for the assessment The assessment is used to identify the various skill levels of learners. There are four levels of expected growth chosen to meet the objectives. Each level has a set of criteria and standards linked to learning objectives and a scoring system to align it. In the above table, being able to identify two rhyming words in 3 out of 5 sentences assesses the success of rhyming in a sentence and gives the learner the highest score of 4. For a learner who is able to identify 6 rhyming pairs, produce 6 ending sounds gets a score of 3. A learner who is able to recognize 6 rhyming pairs is given a ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  4. Essay about Evaluation on a Restaurant | | My Evaluation of the Cheesecake Factory My most favorite of all time restaurants to dine at is The Cheesecake Factory. This restaurant is a famous corporate chain of restaurants that offers a widespread variety of all types of American dishes and of course specializes in the most amazing variety of the best tasting cheesecakes. I love the experience of dining at the Cheesecake factory because the atmosphere is so welcoming and the artwork on the ceilings make you feel very lavish, the food is great and the service is excellent. A particular visit last month proved to me that Cheesecake factory lives up to the expectations of its guests. The cheesecake factory is known for always giving generous portions of food for a ver...show more content... It came with croutons, lettuce, tomatoes, grilled chicken tossed in ceasar dressing in an enormous plate. I was so satisfied with my appetizer and the delicious complimentary bread that I had to order a salad and even that was too much for me to finish. Even though I was too full, I had to order one of their infamous cheesecakes after all. I ordered the Oreo Extreme which was a special edition cheesecake and it was big and delicious enough to feed my whole family. Lastly the service at The Cheesecake Factory caught my attention. As soon as we walked through the door we heard, "How are you? Welcome to the Cheesecake Factory". We were taken to our table by our hostess and then we were asked a drink order. Our drinks were received and the order was taken in a timely manner. The server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was very polite while taking our order. We were told our order would be put right in, and the drinks with the complimentary bread came in no time. Then the food arrived and we began to eat. As we ate our meal the server came over twice to check on us and get us refills. We asked for our check and it was received and paid very quickly. While dining at The Cheesecake Factory, the service was fantastic. The server was very attentive and took very good care of us. I enjoyed my experience impressively and will continue to come back here any chance I get. The Cheesecake Factory restaurant makes the best out of everyone's visit. ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  5. Essay about Evaluation of Football Evaluation of Football Football is a demanding sport and each player has different jobs, as there are many different positions. Each player in a different position needs particular skills that make him or her effective at playing in their chosen role. If players were to be played in a position that didn't use their skills to their full potential, then that player would not perform at a high level. As a centre midfielder, I need to do the job that ensures that my team either regains possession of the ball before the opposition can shoot on goal, or keeps the ball in order to try and create a goal–scoring opportunity. I also have specific skills that make me effective at playing as a centre...show more content... By tackling an opponent a midfielder then regains possession for his or her team, this can lead to an attack been made which could lead to a goal scoring opportunity. Tackling is an extremely important skill and can also be very effective. * Anticipation– when an attacking opposition player is approaching, good anticipation tells us when to tackle and at what time. By having good anticipation players can tackle effectively and prevent themselves from committing fouls. Also when the ball has been played either on the floor or in the air, good anticipation allows us to intercept the pass or to judge when to head the ball. * Heading– this skill can be very effective in both attacking and defending areas. If the ball is in the air heading is the best skill to use. Heading allows players to clear the ball from near their own area, to intercept an airborne pass, to pass to another player, or to head at goal and attempt to score. Like tackling heading is very effective and important for a midfielder. * Passing– passing is probably the most important skill in football. Every player needs to be able to pass a ball. If a player cannot pass a ball properly then he or she puts their team at risk as they will most probably give away possession to the other team. As a midfielder, I ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  6. Essay on Self-Assessment and Reflection Self–Assessment and Reflection In the last seven weeks, I had an opportunity to look back and analyze the events that has shaped my life. This was a unique experience where I was emotionally comfortable enough to look back at life. I was able to objectively revisit many events that were often buried and too painful to face. I was free from the turmoil of emotional fears of failure, anger, regret and loneliness, which often clouded my perception. . I was able to dwell on many pleasant and unpleasant events with more comfort and confidence. I accepted each event as part of life, regardless of whether it was a good or bad experience. I understand that life transpires even when we are not prepared for it, but more importantly, it...show more content... I supported myself financially, emotionally and mentally. Even though my move to Houston was the right one, I executed the move without thinking things through. I should have stopped being self– centered and thought of the pain and anguish that it would cause my parents. This life learning experience has been a double–edged sword, because it has taught me to stand up for what I want, yet on the other hand, sometimes running away is probably the best thing to do, which will help to clear clouded thoughts and refocus on my destination. Play to Win by Larry Wilson introduces a simplistic, yet optimistic, method of viewing life. It embraces two fundamental views – emotional and spiritual maturity that allows us to evaluate who we are. "Life is an adventure to be experienced, lived, experimented with and committed to." (Wilson,1998, p.89) This statement alone tells us that we are in control of our lives. We all can choose dissimilar and painful paths to get to the safe place and that is okay. When looking back, my second life–learning lesson came through financial growth. This growth was to some extent expected, since I was so lavish with cash. My financial motto was that money comes and money goes. I knew eventually, I needed to get a grasp on my foolish spending habit, but it spun out of control with each purchase. There were days where I would squander money like there was no tomorrow. I never planned for the future let alone on for the next meal. For the ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  7. Critical Analysis of Group Work Essay example After completing the group task of preparing a presentation on, transferring individual facilitation skills into a group work setting I will critically reflect upon my own participation. I will evaluate my self–awareness while working in the group, as well as those around me. The way that I personally dealt with any issues that arose within the group and how that affected the group dynamics. I will also briefly discuss the roles in which each member of the group took and how role allocation affected, the group dynamics and the working relationships. Finally I will evaluate my work having discussed it with my fellow group members. In order to evaluate my role within the group it is important to identify what makes a group. A group must...show more content... Similar to Tuckman's five stages of group development is Corey and Corey, they claim that the first stage; Pregroup is "setting expectations, establishing group rules and procedures, role preparation and skills building" (Corey, Corey, Corey 2010 p123). The group did well in this stage, as the group was given a very clear aim, we discussed each members skill sets and while preparing a group contract with our aims objectives and rules. A group contract is a very useful facilitation tool as it sets out very clear guidelines for the group and defines what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour for the group members (Tuckman 1965). The group members were able to gain clarity from the group contract, allowing them to identify the norms and boundaries of the group. For example our group decided that if a member were for any reason not be able to attend a meeting they would have to let the team know in advance, if this did happen the rest of the team would relay the information via email to the missing group member. The next time the group met they were in the storming stage (Tuckman 1965). This stage is where any conflict happens, the group member explore their roles within the group. Within this stage there can often be a struggle for power, status and control. Even though conflict ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...

  8. Speech On Self Evaluation Speech to Explain: Self Evaluation For this speech I choose to have my topic be something I have a strong personal connection to which was Rave culture, its history and practices. Choosing this to be my topic of choice I was able to be motivated in researching it and I believe my genuine interest in the topic showed in my presentation. In this self–eval I will be discussing the structure and style along with what I am taking away from this speech. First, I will be talking about the structure of my speech. When doing a speech to explain, like any other speech it's important to have a clear and organized pattern. Essentially when creating my outline for the speech I had made sure to have a clear and engaging intro and hook, meant to clearly state my theme and then jump into the topic. Unfortunately when presenting the speech I was unable to present my introduction as I would have liked and forgot to even mention my theme. I was not very effective in my introduction but knowing so at my conclusion I was sure to clearly state my theme. However,I believe my concluding sentence could have been more clear. To improve I should in the future reinstate my topics and go over key points and leave the audience with psychological closure rather than abruptly saying "that was all, thank you". I felt that it would have been beneficial for me to use more visual aids in presenting my topic. Rather than just talking about my topic and the music, I feel that if I showed some actual footage ...Get more content on HelpWriting.Net...
