  4. 1st Basket of Helsinki Final Act • Politico-military aspects of security: principles guiding relations between participating States and military confidence-building measures (CSBM) CSBMs to “contribute to reducing the dangers of armed conflict and of misunderstanding or miscalculation of military activities which could give rise to apprehension, particularly in a situation where States lack clear and timely information”

  12. CPC: Constant Support • The role of the CPC: • Direct support to all OSCE field operations • Liaison function between OSCE field operations Permanent Council and FSC • Coordination within OSCE and with other IOs • Cross-cutting activities and projects
