Analysis of GPG and RPG Variants in the V3 Region of the Stanfield Papers

DESCRIPTION

This document examines the GPG variant found in the V3 region of the Stanfield papers, which occasionally transforms into an RPG. Positioned on the external side of the V3 loop, we investigate a highlighted region indicating the initiation of the Markham data starting with EVVIRS. Notably, this region fluctuates, sometimes appearing as DIV, EIV, or EVI. Positioned approximately 30 amino acids before the V3 loop within a cleft-like structure, this area remains exposed. The presence of glycosyl groups indicates potential coverage if all related molecules are present.

  1. GPG region from 1F58 of the stanfield papers on the V3 region, this GPG was sometimes turned into an RPG. Since this is directly on the V3 loop I assume it is on the external side.

  2. Highlighted region is the beginning of the Markham data that starts with EVVIRS. This region changed in some cases to DIV, EIV or EVI. It seems to be ~30aa before the V3 loop and seems to be in a cleft of some sort but still exposed. However the slighly larger molecules above and to the left are glycosyl groups, suggesting that if all of them were present, it would be covered.
