  1. SafetyWeek 2011/12 MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

  2. Dear Student Over and over again you have said: “Sir George Monoux is a SAFE learning environment.” I will do all I can in my power to keep it that way. We know that education is a way to a better life. We are offering an opportunity and no one should try to take this away. For this reason we have a zero tolerance approach to gang culture, violence and to bringing the college into disrepute.

  3. You need to know that we are working in partnership with the other colleges, the Local Authority and the police. Any fighting inside or outside the colleges could lead to: 1) losing your place at the college a visit to your home from a police officer wanting to talk to your parents or carers and possibly leading to a criminal record. There has been an incident outside the College that led to the stabbing of one of our students. We take this extremely seriously – even if it occurs outside the College.

  4. We have now finished our investigation. We have found a link with four of our students. These four students have left the College permanently as a result of this incident. This is not compulsory education, we can take these decisions and we will continue to adopt a zero tolerance approach to ensure your safety and the reputation of the College. We will do everything possible to ensure you are safe here and that is why we have arranged this Safety Week. Paolo Ramella Principal
