  5. What you are about to do is big...very big • First, know that you belong here...it is normal to experience imposter syndrome • Second, know that others have gone before you and are a source of support...so here are some of the suggestions we want to share...

  6. GET ORGANIZED • Use a calendar • Schedule carefully • Keep track of all the new usernames and passwords • Set up your email/voicemail • Develop regular routines for reading and research • Prepare for every class

  7. GET EQUIPPED • Computer with highspeed internet • Reference Manager or equivalent • Laser printer • SPSS - one year subscription for $50. • Photocopy card

  8. GET FAMILIAR • The library - paper and virtual • The university - where is the computer room? reprography? the grad lounge? • The virtual campus and the uOttawa website • RNGSAÉD WebCT site

  9. GET INVOLVED • RNGSAÉD • PIPS • TIPS • Social activities • Workshops • Discussions online

  10. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF • Be gentle with yourself • Find a partner or study groups • Eat properly • Sleep regular hours • Schedule play time • Be good to the people who live with you and who you care about

  11. Remember... If it seems like there should be an easier way to do something, there probably is and there is probably someone who can help you out...look for the answer.
