  3. Starting the College Search • HUHS College Fair: Tuesday, March 8th • College Visits should be done between now and the end of Junior year • Search colleges on WISCareers program • ACT or SAT test should be taken 2nd semester of Junior year

  4. Process for Entering Classes • Log into Student Access, not Family Access. If you don’t have your student access password, go to the HUHS homepage, click on Student Access link, and follow the prompt to get your new password. • Click on Courses for 2011 – 2012. • Select the Update Request tab. • Enter courses from the Courses Available (left) and add them to the Courses Requested (right) side. Keep track of credits entered under credits at the top right of the page. • Required courses will already be entered. • Most students will be selecting 7 credits. If you choose more than 7 credits, please fill out an overload form. • Click on the Alternate tab and enter 2 credits of alternate classes. • You are finished! Simply logout and the program will automatically save it for you. • You may enter your course selections from February 7 – 11.

Online Course Information • Check your tan Course Offerings sheet for online course options. • If choosing to take an online course, complete the Online Learning Readiness Survey found on the Counseling Department webpage. • Choosing an online course does not require that you exceed 7 credits. • If you select more than 7 credits, an overload form is required. • Online courses are not for everyone. Students need to be self-advocates, independent learners, highly motivated, and have academic success in that subject area. • All online course numbers end with an “O.” • A complete listing of online classes is available on the Counseling Department Webpage under the Course Registration tab.

  6. Summer School Information • Summer school registration forms (Work Ahead or Readiness courses) were due in the Counseling Office on Friday, January 28 at 8:00 A.M. • Summer School Dates: June 13 – July 8 (No class on July 4). • It is recommended that you take no more than 1 credit in summer school. • Summer school classes for those who fail a required course(Credit Recovery courses) will be available later in the school year.

  7. Finalizing your Course Selections • Students MUST turn in one copy of thebluecourse selectionform to their 5th hour study hall teacher by February 11th. • Academic courses must be initialed by a teacher in that area. • Course Overload Forms must be submitted for anyone taking over 7 credits during the regular school year. This form can be found on the counseling department website, on the “course registration” page. • Course Overload Forms must be submitted to the counseling office by February 11th.
