  3. Wholesale and foreign trade sector in Germany • BGA represents • 120.000 companies • 1.200.000 employees • 850 billon € turnover only within Germany • Exports: 960 billion € • Imports: 806 billion € •  The majority of our members are medium-sized enterprises

  4. Major objectives of the BGA • Political consulting / lobbying for free trade • Informing our members about current issues in all fields of trade e.g. finance, regulatory reforms, tax, customs, social policy or environmental requirements • Organising events, workshops, seminars and delegations to inform about new developments and to foster business ties

  6. What are the core factors for globalisation? • Globalisation is free from ideology • Borders do not matter • National states are not decisive • Land is not decisive

  8. Conclusion I • The global challenges can only be solved together. • We cannot afford not to integrate 1.2 billion people of the Arabian world in a peacefull process of globalisation. Nazareth has the chance to mediate between the cultures. • Until now, Israel is just using half of ist potential!

Conclusion II • As long as there is no peacefull cooperation between the cultures there is a risk factor for international business. • Higher Risks • Increasing transaction costs • Decreasing welfare • That is the reason why we care! • You should not pass up the chance to use the market potential. We cannot afford it in the longrun.
