Influence of Gender on Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Outcomes: A Prospective Study
This study investigates how gender affects the outcomes of laparoscopic cholecystectomy procedures. Conducted by the Surgical Departments of Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Ennis and Limerick, findings were presented at the Sir Peter Freyer Surgical Symposium in September 2007. Our prospective study analyzes surgical results, complications, and recovery times associated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy in male and female patients. The insights gained from this research aim to improve surgical practices and patient outcomes based on gender-specific responses to this common procedure.
