  1. Be Thankful and Worship God

  2. All Good Comes From God!! 16 So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. – James 1:16-18 • Don’t be mislead!! • Good and Perfect = One Source Only – God!! • God is changeless – immutable: not capable or susceptible to change – light vs. shadow • Birth by the Word (His redemptive Word) vs.6

  3. His Prized Creation 18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession. Christians are the ultimate restoration of all creation. But with eager hope, 21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. -Rom.8:21 And so the Light became alive And manna became Man. Eternity stepped into time So we could understand. He spoke the Incarnation and then so was born the Son. His final word was Jesus, He needed no other one.  Michael Card

  4. As God’s most Prized creation… • Work at living in peace with everyone 1 Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters.2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! - Hebrews 13:1-2 • Work at living a holy life 15 Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many. • Look after each other with showering grace! • Don’t be the cause of bitterness • Don’t be a corrupting influence

  5. As God’s most Prized creation… • Avoid a Very Common Corruption 16 Make sure that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who traded his birthright as the firstborn son for a single meal. 17 You know that afterward, when he wanted his father’s blessing, he was rejected. It was too late for repentance, even though he begged with bitter tears. - Hebrews 12:16-17 • Esau’s immoral/godless behavior was spiritual – being worldly and materialistic • Count the cost before committing the act or engaging the tongue • Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves… Romans 12:3

  6. Our Inheritance: An Unshakeable Kingdom • But, We Must Listen 25 …we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks from heaven! (Jesus/Holy Spirit) - Hebrews 12:25 • Even to Biblically-based Human Instruction 17 Obey your spiritual leaders, and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit. – Hebrews 13:17 • Spiritual Leaders are accountable to God! • Help to make their task easier (joyful not one of sorrow)!

  7. Our Inheritance: An Unshakeable Kingdom 26When God spoke from Mount Sinai his voice shook the earth, but now he makes another promise: “Once again I will shake not only the earth but the heavens also.” (Haggai 2:6)27 This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed, so that only unshakable things will remain. 28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.29 For our God is a devouring fire. - Hebrews 12:26-29 Let us be thankful and please God byworshiping him with fear and awe.
