  2. Geographical location of Tunisia Tunisia, is a country situated in the North - East of the African continent, its surface extends over 163 610 km2 for a population of 10 175 014 inhabitants in 2006.

  3. Tunisia • Tunisia is constituted by 24 governorates from which the capital Tunis shelters 1 897 000 inhabitants, possesses 4,9 million hectares of farmlands among which 1,6 dedicated in the culture of cereal

The indicators of the Tunisian economy • Tunisia is the 1st industrial exporting South Meda country towards the EU with 6.7 billions euro a year, • Tunisia is the 1st South Meda country to be entered in the free trade area with the EU , since January 1st, 2008, • Tunisia is the 1st Meda country according to the indication of competitiveness, and outstripping(anticipating) several countries of the Euro-zone such as Portugal, Poland, Hungary … • More than 2 200 companies with European participation are implanted in Tunisia,

Characteristic of the Tunisian industrial fabric • The industrial fabric of Tunisia account 5 702 companies having a staff upper or equal to 10 among which 2 670 are totally exporting, • The main sectors of industry are the Textile industries and clothing, with 2086 companies, following by the Agro-Food industries with 1013 companies, and then the mecanics and electric industries with 897 IMCCV. These three sectors, which represent 70 % of the Tunisian industrial fabric, generate 82 % of the exports, • The value of the exports of Manufacturing industries is increased from 6 885 million dinars in the year 2000 , to 14 349 million dinars in the year 2007, • The Textile industries and mecanics and electric industries are the jewels of the Tunisian industries, with exports which reached 9800 MDT in the year 2007 , • The companies of which the staff is upper or equal to 10 are employs 477 825 persons.

  6. Industrial parks in Tunisia • Tunisia was given to Investors 121 industrial parks (3800 ha) in according to the international standards, • Adoption of a Director plan of the industrial parks during the period 2008-20016, in which the private will create 33% of the programmed area.

  7. Infrastructure & territorial OfferA best logistics Director plan of the industrial parks installation during the period 2008-2016 • littoral: 1818 ha (60%) against (84%) currently • Center median and interior: 1149 ha (40%) against 16% currently.

New orientations for industrial parks Ameliorate the infrastructure and the life frame ofindustrial parks throw: • Connectionof industrial parks to the optic fiber network, • implementation of life centers and servicesinindustrial parks, • Strengthen the management capacity of Group of Maintenance and management,GMG,with GTZ assistance project, • Great implication of private sector in the field of creation and management of industrial parks which target to increase the industrial buildings (premises).

New orientations for industrial parks • To ensure sustainable development of industrial zones, • The connection of gas network (clean and economic energy for enterprises) , • The creation of treatment station of industrial effluents, • The creation of specialized industrial zones (CIT, off shoring, textile finishing, tannery),

  10. New orientations: competitivenessandtechnologicalpoles: • Tunisia aims at increasing the capacity of innovation and competitiveness of its companies. The installation of poles of competitiveness covering several field is one of the axes of this policy, • these poles supports the culture of the innovation and the competitiveness of the companies and the institutions based on the knowledge, • stimulate and generates the transfer of knowledge and technologies (universities, companies, institutions of research and development), • facilitate the creation and the growth of innovating companies with the help of: incubators, .....
