Vision Statement The Bar Harbor (MDI) Rotary Club will be known as a leader in the local community as well as an active part of the international community of Rotary International for supporting efforts that improve family life. Method: to have a club enriched by 3 service projects and enhanced by 3 new active and sustaining members

  4. Strategy • Focus on the family demographic • Collaborate with existing groups • Look to veteran members and past-presidents for guidance, support and assistance • Celebrate the talents each member can bring to our work • Create positive fellowship and support

  5. Goals and Objectives • Stick with projects that the community wants to see supported or completed • Members look forward to coming to meetings and events • Increase and sustain our members

  6. Today’s Situation • Have longevity • Dedication is there • Need more people to actively assist with: • Administration of the club • Projects of the club • Events for the club

  7. How Do We Get There? • Active support from members on • PR • Service • Fundraising • Use Club Assembly (and make it fun) • Intra Board communication

  8. Projects • Club Service – Operations funding to Donations list • Vocational Service – Leadership Training • Community Service – Oncology Department & Town Hill Ballfield • International – possible YMCA Linkage and/or district project • New Generations – New play equipment for Park Street Playground new!

  9. Pragmatic Stuff • Bylaw change to add a fundraising and fellowship positions to the Board Committee meetings at Club Assembly Need Interact Liaison How does this influence the budget?

  10. Bring it Back to the larger picture of Rotary International • Rotary International President Goal is: Reach Within to Embrace Humanity • Family • Continuity • Change • EREY – Foundation • Youth Ambassadorships • PolioPlus

  11. Ideas • Bring back members that we lost over the last few years • Assign trainers and mentors for new members • Take advantage of local cable • Increase scholarship • Speaker Committee • “Rotarian works here” signs in businesses • Fun Fellowshipbed races, carolers

  12. Event Ideas • Harlem Rockets • Event at Bar Harbor Jazz Festival in August • Event at Taste of Bar Harbor in May • New festival ideas for shoulder season – comedy? Poetry?
