  3. RespectWhat does it look like? Students are expected to raise their hand if they want to speak in class. Raising your hand allows other people to hear you Raising your hand helps the teacher know you have something to say.

  4. Following Teacher Directions • Teachers want you to be successful. • Teachers give directions to help you understand what is happening in class.

  5. Speaking Respectfully • Adults in the building expect students to speak to them in a respectful manner. • Learning how to speak respectfully helps you to be understood more clearly. • People are more receptive to your wants and needs. • Creates a positive and productive environment.

  6. Are you Speaking Respectfully? • Is your tone of voice appropriate? • Do you use please and thank you? • Are you keeping a respectful distance from the person you’re speaking towards? • Are you waiting your turn to speak? • Are working towards a solution?

  7. Are you contributing to a productive classroom environment? • Do you have your supplies for class? • Do you contribute to discussions? • Are you staying on task? • Do you filter your comments to topics being discussed?

  8. Are you contributing to a productive classroom environment? • Do you respect other people’s property? • Are you keeping your hands and feet to yourself? • Are you staying seated during class
