  2. National tourism statistics Statistics of tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic is based on : • Recommendations of the UNSD and UNWTO • on two sides: • demand; • supply www.stat.kg

Political frameworks • National Strategy for Sustainable Development for 2013-2017 (approved by the Presidential Decree of January 21, 2014 #11); • Program on Transition of the Kyrgyz Republic to Sustainable Development (approved by the Decree of Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of December 26, 2013 #3694-V); • Tourism development program until 2017 (draft); • Strategy development of statistical of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2013-2017 (approved by the Resolution of the Board of National Statistical Committee of July 30, 2013 #22); • Program for improvement and development of the state statistics of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2015-2019 (draft). www.stat.kg

Methodological background for statistics of tourism International: • System of National Accounts 1993; • Recommendations on Tourism Statistics, WTO / UN, 1994; • WTO technical manuals on the collection and processing of statistical data on the internal and external tourism, WTO, 1995; • Unified system of indicators for the tourism industry in the Commonwealth countries, CIS Statistical Committee, 2000; • International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics 2008 (United Nations). www.stat.kg

Methodological background for statistics of tourism National: • Methodological Guidelines on tourism statistics; • Methodological instructions for the survey of subjects of collective accommodation facilities, guest houses and households engaged in economic activity in the tourism sector (approved by the Board of the National Statistical Committee on July 21, 2014 #16). www.stat.kg

Classifiers • OKPO- General identification code of enterprises, organizations and individual entrepreneurs; • SOATE - State classifier of administrative-territorial and territorial units; • GKED - National Classification of Economic Activities; • GKFS - State classifier by ownership; • SICTA (WTO) - Standard International Classification of Tourism Activities. www.stat.kg

Statistical monitoring tools state level • National Statistical Committee: • Form №1 - Tourism “Tourism activities report " (quarterly); • Selected survey of households receiving individual tourists (once a year). • State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic: • Form №1 - Border “Passing of the citizens through the border of the Kyrgyz Republic" (quarterly). www.stat.kg

Within the system of state statistics it is exists more than 46 state statistical reporting forms that participate in formation of statistical data on tourisms sector through the country: • International and national tourism: 3 forms • Domestic tourism: 2 forms • Transport: 6 forms • Production of goods for tourism: 4 forms • Construction: 2 forms www.stat.kg

Market services: 3 forms • Trade, hotels and restaurants: 4 forms • Financial services: 1 form • Public administration: 1 form • Organization of leisure, entertainment and culture: 6 forms • Employment in the tourism sector: 3 forms • Financial activity of the enterprises of tourist areas: 5 forms • Survey questionnaires: 8 questionnaires (including households) www.stat.kg

Example:Form №1 - Tourism “Tourism activities report" (monthly, quarterly) Key indicators: • General information on businesses related to tourism or accommodation facilities; • Number of served users; • Distribution of visitors for the duration of stay; • Number of rooms and bed space; • Financial indicators www.stat.kg

  11. Selective survey questionnaire for households servicing individual tourists • Availability of beds; • Number of visitors; • Length of stay in the journey; • Cost of a single location. www.stat.kg

  14. Census of the subject operating in tourism sector • Period: August 1-10, 2014 • Place: Issyk-Kul region • Coverage: • 139 accommodation facilities; • 970 guest houses; • 4114 households. www.stat.kg
