Hialeah High School Graduation Requirements Overview

To graduate from Hialeah High School, students must accumulate a minimum of 24 credits and pass the FCAT with a minimum score of 300 points in each section. A 2.0 unweighted GPA is required along with community service hours, which must be approved by a counselor. The required subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Physical Education, and electives. Additional opportunities for scholarships and credit recovery are available to help students meet graduation standards.

  2. MDCPS Graduation Requirements • 24 credits option* • Pass FCAT (min 300pts ea) • 2.0 unweighted GPA • Community Service-Forms at Counselors (office 826) -get approval signature from counselor prior to beginning

  21. Making Up Credits • Adult Ed./ Afternoon or Night School- only English, Math, Soc St and Science • Summer School • Florida Virtual School- can be used to accelerate graduation

  22. Forgiveness • If you fail a required class you must retake the course. If you receive a D you may take the course again for forgiveness only through Florida Virtual School • If upon retaking the class, you receive a C or better, the prior F or D is forgiven so that it does not affect your GPA. The result is your GPA improves.
