The roles of limbic system: • 1) Emotional reactibility: mood, behaviour (love-hate, anger, agression, joy and sadness etc.) • 2) Instincts • -self preservation: food gathering, eating-drinking etc.; • -species preservation: sexual behaviour • 3) Autonomic organization • 4) Learning, memory • Centers • Inputs • Outputs • Function

  4. Centers: -Telencephalon (archi-, paleo-, neopallium) -Diencephalon (thalamus, hypothalamus, epithalamus) -Mesencephalon
