Boiling Summers: A Challenge for Alpine Regions
This research explores the impact of rising temperatures on comfort levels and leisure activities in Austrian alpine regions. Utilizing data from the Zentralanstalt für Meteorologie und Geodynamik, the study highlights significant findings regarding tourist experiences under higher temperatures. With a sample of 118 participants, the analysis includes perceptions of comfort, adaptation to heat, and the importance of destination offers. The study aims to provide recommendations for improving visitor experiences and addresses the urgency of climate change in the context of Alpine tourism.
