  2. Zalesin’sBecome Americans My great grandfather, Daniel Zalesin, was born in Russia in 1905. He left Russia and went to Liverpool, England in 1912. His family moved to Winnipeg, Canada in 1922. The family moved again in 1925 to Detroit MI. I am named after Daniel. My great grandmother, Sonia Davidow, was born in Russia in 1906, she went to Winnipeg in 1918 and then to Detroit in 1925, where she met Daniel.   3. Silverman Family Maurice Silverman was born in 1907 in Toronto, Canada. He moved to Detroit, MI in 1912. Helen Whitman was born in Baltimore Maryland in 1907. She moved to Detroit, MI in 1910, where she met Maurice, married, and had my grandmother, Anita.
