Some Background • Safety Assessment 2009-2010 by Safe Plans • Implemented those recommendations • Security and Crisis Management Plans and Quick Reference Guides developed in conjunction with admin, first responders, and Safety Task Force • Variety of physical safety measures implemented from cameras to security guards

  3. Some Background • Various training exercises implemented with admin and staff from threat assessment to tabletop activities • Previous Presentations: Students and Staff; Safe and Secure • Dr. Hux has been meeting with buildings to go over active shooter plan throughout the year.

School Intruder Response • Techniques match our current plans • Plan to implement in all schools • Start in August of the 13-14 School Year • 4 Hour Course broken into 2 Wednesdays • 4 Buildings at a time until all are trained • Will meet with administrators to set a schedule • Training needs to occur at the beginning of the year to maximize safety • Cost approximately $25,000 (PD Budget)
