  1. What is Love? 1 John 4:7-21

  2. Love is Love? John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

  3. How did Jesus Love? EVERYTHING WAS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE OTHER PERSON…. WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION IN RETURN

  4. How did Jesus Love? Jesus loves us as an expression of His love for His Father… John 17:26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

  5. LOVE 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude 5 Itdoes not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

  6. LOVE 1 Corinthians 13:7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  7. IS SUCH LOVE POSSIBLE? NO!!!!! Not in our own power John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. But…. We are NOT APART FROM HIM!

  8. If You Have EVER Loved Like This… Then you know that you are saved --- you know you are a Child of God… 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

  9. How is Love From God? Romans 5:5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

  10. Loving One Another Indicates that we have Received God’s Love 1 John 4:9-10 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

  11. Loving One AnotherIndicates that God’s Spirit is Within Us 1 John 4:12,13 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

  12. Loving One Another Indicates that Our Testimony and Confession are True 1 John 4:14-16 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. 16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

  13. Loving One Another Indicates that God is Going to Deliver us from Judgment 1 John 4:17 By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world.

  14. Loving One Another Indicates that God Delivers us from Fear 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

  15. Loving One Another Indicates that we Love God 1 John 4:19-21 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.21 And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

  16. Love…. It is both a Commandment, and a …. Blessing 1 John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

  17. The Big Picture… God IS Love God pours love into your heart as a… Blessing to you and to others If God’s Love is in you… you are a Child of God So…. Let us love one another
