Icicles hung three feet or more from the eaves of houses, snowdrifts swallowed up automobiles and the birds were so fluffed up they looked comic. In what season does this story take place? How do you know? What is your experience? What details do you see in the story/book? Excerpt from “Stray” by Cynthia Rylant
