  1. “Ehm!” Welcome to the battlefield! I’m William Tecumseh Sherman, Major General in the Civil War. Don’t mind the cannons here, were in the middle of the Savannah Campaign but you’ll hear more about that later. I was born February 8, 1820 in Lancaster, Ohio, nice place. My mom and dad Charles and Mary Sherman were divorced so I never met my mom. When I was 9 my dad died so the neighbors Thomas and Maria Ewing raised me then sent me off to some nasty military academy! Around 1850 I married the lovely Eleanor Ewing. Later on I had several unsuccessful attempts at a political careers so I dumped that idea. I soon joined the Union Army as a general but lost hope as those dang Confederates destroyed us at the Bull Run! Later My commanding general was Ulysses Simpson Grant, my favorite general we were close friends and had marvelous strategy. Round this time Grant and I marched for Vicksburg! This battle lasted from November 1862 to July 1863. It was a very unfair battle [Not that battles are fair] it ‘s just that we outnumbered the Confederates 10 to 1. As we marched for Vicksburg it was being turned into a fortress. Soon we had those Confederates trapped up inside knowing they didn’t have long.

  2. After a month of fighting, one from a fort and the other in a trench the Union set off a land charge! Well, that was the end of Vicksburg. Pemberton the Confederate general and Grant soon came to surrender terms. With that Grant and I took the fort it’s supplies and many prisoners! My next battle was the Atlanta Campaign. It was me and my 100,000 soldiers against Johnston and his 55,000. I planned to teach those nasty Confederates a lesson. It began on May 7, and would later end on September 2, 1864. Number one, Problem with Johnston, likes defense me on the other hand, total offence! My first fight in the Atlanta Campaign was The Battle of Rosea! My troops and I quickly stopped their railroad supply. After, in the Battle of Dallas I cautiously checked the Confederate’s lines. It appeared they were hunkered down in the trenches just waiting for us to charge! The last and largest Battle was the Battle of Atlanta. I charged McPherson and he fled as we pursued. Then I stopped in Atlanta and destroyed the railroads, then I completely burnt Atlanta. Smoke filled the air and suddenly there was no sky, Atlanta was burnt to the ground! Next up was my most destructive campaign ever, the Savannah Campaign!
