  1. QUANAH PARKER

  2. INTRODUCTION I was a warrior ,a rancher, a judge, a religious leader, and a business man. I was born in northern Texas around 1849. I grew up in America’s southern plains in a tribe of Comanche Indians. I spent many years trying to make my tribe’s life better. Even though I failed a lot I had an amazing life.

  3. TIME LINE • 1849 I WAS BORN • 1860 My mother and sister were kidnapped by Texas soldiers • 1863 I learned my mother was white • 1869 I became a war chief of the QUAHADA Band • 1872 I married my first two wives • 1874 I attacked buffalo hunters at Adobe Walls, Texas • 1886 I became a judge on the reservation court • 1899 The U.S. government gave me the title of principal chief of the Comanche Indians • 1910 I moved the graves of my mother and sister to join those of the People • 1911 I died on the reservation

  4. MY EARLY LIFE When being the son of the chief I could shoot an arrow when young. The worst thing was the whole tribe usually went hungry when going to sleep. I learned quickly that buffalo was the most important animal to my tribe. The only cool thing about being the chief’s son is I got to play with a cool headband.
