  3. ASSONANCE is the repetition of vowel sounds in a phrase or sentence. Example: "It beats . . . as it sweeps . . . as it cleans!“ - slogan for Hoover vacuum cleaners

  4. CONSONANCE is the repetition of consonant sounds in a phrase or sentence at the middle or end of words. Example: pitter, patter

  5. RHYME is the similarities of sounds, usually at the end of lines of poems. • Example: • A BAD CASE OF SNEEZES - by Bruce Lansky • Last night I had the sneezes.I was really very ill.My mother called the doctorwho prescribed a purple pill. • At eight o’clock I went to bed.My mom turned out the light.I used up one whole box of Kleenexsneezing through the night.
