  7. Students may receive academic credit for internship opportunity. There are several benefits to academic credit:  Documented experience on your transcript  Guided experience with faculty or staff advisor  Opportunity for reflection of experience  Application of classroom learning in real- world setting Information retrieved from Office of Academic Internships Academic credit

  10. Darrel is a sophomore student at the University of Memphis. He has survived his first year! Darrel is struggling with how to get involved on campus. He only has one friend on campus, Sharon. His dad has been on him about getting an internship. He turns to Sharon for help. Scenario 1

  11. Mackenzie is a very involved student on campus. She is involved in many different student organizations. She has been trying to secure an internship for her senior year. She has applied to several internships but has been unsuccessful. She reaches out to Career Services for help for the first time since she has been a student at the U of M. Scenario 2
