  2. Introduction • The Arabic alphabet is written from right to left. There are 29 consonants and 6 vowels (3 short vowels, 3 long vowels). • The 3 long vowels can be vocalized hence they become consonants. The Alphabet

Introduction • In this session, we will learn mostly some consonants and the three long vowels which will help us in the pronunciation of some Arabic words. • It will be helpful to practice saying each new word we learn so that students would learn individual sounds progressively. The Alphabet

  4. Agenda • Today, we will try to learn the following letters: • ا, و, ي, ب, ت, ث, ن The Alphabet

  5. Overview • We are introducing the alphabet not in their alphabetical order, rather similar looking letters are grouped together so that we stress early on the importance of the special features for each letter and help students form categories which can help throughout the learning process. The Alphabet
