  2. President’s Message Happy June CFMA Members, The last month has been another busy month with a variety of great opportunities for networking, education and a lot of fun with our 25th Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament. Each event takes so much time and effort from our volunteers. May Recap I would like to send a big thank you to Tracy Utterback and our Speakers Committee for recruiting Jared Logan with Sage Technologies. On May 15th, Mr. Logan provided an extremely informative snapshot of the current IT environment, potential threats to our systems and a variety of tools that are often overlooked but vital to our success. Pam Hummel who sits on the CFMA National Committee spoke to our group about some of the exciting changes to the National Conference and urged participation from our membership. This is a fantastic way to promote CFMA as well as secure much needed CPE credits. Another thank you is owed to Steve Livingston, Michele Zulka-King and their team, as well as all of our sponsors/participants for another great and successful golf tournament. We will recognize each sponsor in next month’s newsletter but the amount of time and energy that this event takes is difficult to describe and is much appreciated. The proceeds will provide our Student Liaison Committee with the critical funds necessary to continue our Scholarship initiative and cultivate the next generation of employees into the construction industry. The CFMA Board of Directors also approved a donation to the ICCIFP to support their strategic initiatives. The CFMA Albuquerque Chapters membership currently maintains one of the highest CCIFCP Credential rates in all of the nation and we are happy to continue to promote the this program. Upcoming Events June General Meeting – CFMA Albuquerque Chapter - Vice President Eileen Kreisle graciously agreed to host a site tour visit of the APS Community Stadium on Wednesday June 19 from 11:30am to 1:00 pm. 5. Junior Achievement Give Back to the Community – Volunteer Today! AMessage from Your CFMA Community Service Project Committee There are 146+ reasons why we need you to volunteer to deliver a Junior Achievement program this spring!  The current open class list is attached to this newsletter, and there are 146 classes that still need a volunteer.  The attached list is sorted by school and city and shows ALL OF THE CLASSES THAT STILL NEED A JA VOLUNTEER.  As you know, for as little as an hour a week, you can make a difference in the lives of young people in your community.  The Junior Achievement classroom and afterschool experience will leave you feeling proud, energized and hopeful about a better future for our young people.  It may have been last semester that you were in a classroom delivering Junior Achievement; it may have been five years ago, we encourage you to teach again this semester!  We would also like to invite you to share the JA volunteer opportunity with your friends, family and co-workers.  If you  know even one other person that would like to share their personal and professional experiences and skills with students from your community by delivering one of our programs, please forward the list with a personal message about your JA experience.  The JA staff can visit with new volunteers and get them in the classroom before the end of the semester. THANK YOU CFMA MEMBERS for Volunteering – together we are making a difference! Please contact Zoe Otero Martinez if you would like to volunteer in the classroom or have any questions.
