This study analyzes various land model reanalyses focused on water and energy balance from 1961 to 1990. Key data sources include the VIC model (Maurer et al., 2002), which offers US-based observations from 1950 to 2000, and the Global Noah model (Fan et al., 2003) analyzing data from 1948 to 1998. Additional insights come from several reanalysis datasets, such as NCEP/DOE and CPC, covering a broad temporal range. The aim is to validate the reanalyses using monthly and hourly data to enhance understanding of land-atmosphere interactions.
