  3. CMU How English Becomes International Language? England started colonies in North America and India and later in Asia, Africa, and the South Pacific. After the Second World War, the United States became very powerful. Business moves globally.

  4. CMU Why English? It is used for international communication. It is the language of international business, research, and science. It is used in Media: Radio, TV, Advertising, Newspaper, Magazine, & Internet.

  16. CMU What can I do after class? • Review! • After each class, go back over your class notes. • Test yourself! Cover up your notes, and ask yourself how may points are involved, then what each of these is. • Do some reflections • When exams are coming, prepare a couple weeks in advance.
