Your essay… • Your essay should have a general format as follow: Planning Sheet Introduction Paragraph w/ Thesis Statement and Creative Hook 3 Body Paragraphs (at least) which all start with transitions and include details and support (FRIES and SCOPE) Conclusion which restates your thesis and wraps up your essay

  4. THESIS STATEMENT • A thesis statement puts your 3 supporting points into one sentence. • The thesis statement is ALWAYS the last sentence in the introduction!!!!!!! • Your thesis statement should prepare your reader for what will be included in your essay.

  5. Timed Writing • All timed writing test will be 45 minutes. • You should take the first 5 minutes to plan… • Then next 35 minutes to write your essay…. • And most importantly the last 5 minutes should be dedicated to proofreading.
