  2. Guide to success • You must be familiar with the PART of SPEECH- not only the definition. If you do not know the part of speech, you will not be able to accurately fit it into a sentence. • Verbs- action • Nouns- person, place or thing • Adjectives – describe nouns • Adverbs – describe verbs or adjectives

  3. Week 1 • Pursuit (n) – the act of chasing • Evoke (v) to call to mind, summon, or call forth • Exultant (adj) – great joy or jubilation • Incessantly (adv) without end, without interruption

  4. Week 1 continued • Obscured (v) not noticed or seen • Primitive (adj) not derived from something else, primary or basic • Incredulous (adj) skeptical or disbelieving

  5. Week 2 • Contemplate (v) to consider thoroughly • Treasonous (adj) betrayal or trust or confidence • Capricious: (adj) characteristic of sudden change • Luminous: (adj) radiating or reflecting light

  6. Week 2 continued • Encampment: (N) the act of lodging in a camp • Abraded: (v) worn down by scrapping or rubbing • Flourish: (adj) to be successful, at the height of excellence
