  2. To use the Scissor Lift, you will need at least: The “Sissor Lift Key” Key Proper Harness & Lanyard Trained Spotter for Safety Mandatory Items Needed

  3. Maximum Weight Limit on Scissor Lift All Tools, Equipment, Gear and Persons can altogether weigh no-more than 600lbs on the scissor lift.

  5. Pre-Use Inspection Look for Hazards Look for Leaks Look for Damage Report ANY problems to MU Building Services

  6. Cruising in the MU Drivers need to get low and take a knee when cruising thru low overhead environments! BEWARE hazards in driving the platform thru a doorway!

  7. Safety Rails Keep You Safe! • DO NOT • Sit on Rail • Stand on Rail • Lean Over Rail

  8. Where do I clip In? There are Six (6) approved anchor “clip-in” points on the work platform.

  9. Decals and Warnings

  10. It is called a “scissor” lift for a reason Use extreme caution when using anything that might hang off the work platform, or might get caught in the scissor mechanism.

  11. Another Special Feature Lets you work above obstructions or in areas where pulling close to the wall is not advantageous

  12. How Do I Drive This Thing? The Joystick has: A dead-man-grip (lift won’t move unless you squeeze with your hand) A rocker-switch (that turns the wheels left or right) Toggle Switch LEFT for UP/DOWN vertical operation on the Joystick Toggle Switch RIGHT for FORWARD/BACK driving operation on the Joystick Battery Gauge

Lower (Emergency) Controls • Lower Controls should be used during the following situations: • During Pre-Use Inspection of Lift Functions • By the Spotter ONLY After Given Permission • to Operate a Function by the Operator • By the Spotter To Override the Upper Controls • and Gain Access to the Operator in the Event • of an Emergency

  14. What does the spotter Do? • Spotters walk ahead and around of the operating lift and pay special attention to the lift route of travel to watch and warn the operator about: • Doorways • Blind corners • Low overhead clearances • People approaching from front or rear • Hazards on the floor like power cords or tools

  15. Spotters’ Job at Doorways • Automatic doors must be propped or held open • long enough to allow the lift to pass through the • doorway • When entering and exiting the • elevator, spotter must hold • the “Door Open” button open • until the lift is fully on or fully • off the elevator car.
