  2. How is it caused? What is Scoliosis and how is it caused? Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine in either a C or S. The less common scoliosis may be caused by neuromuscular conditions, such as cerebral palsy muscular dystrophy and birth defects. The more common forms of Scoliosis is adolescent idiopathic Scoliosis, which is a case of Scoliosis with no obvious cause

  3. What are the symptoms and is there a treatment? Symptoms: One shoulder blade is higher than the other, uneven hips, a rotating spine, back pain, problems breathing because of reduced area in the chest for lungs to expand. Is there a treatment? Orthopedicsurgeons and neurosurgeons are often consulted if surgery is needed. There is no treatment to Scoliosis but it can be reduced Can anyone get it? People of all ages can get Scoliosis, the most common type has no known cause and occurs in children ages 10-12 and in their early teens, girls are more likely than boys

  4. What system does it affect? Which systems does it affect and which organs does it affect? Scoliosis affects the entire skeletal system including the spine, ribs, and pelvis. It impacts upon the brain and central nervous system and affects the body's hormonal and digestive systems Does it affect more than the skeletal system? Severe Scoliosis can affect the muscular system due to so much curvature. While the more non severe can affect the digestive system and the respiratory system (explained in slide 2)

  5. The function of the system What is the function of the skeletal system? The adult human skeletal system has 206 bones, as well as a network of tendons, ligaments and cartilage that connects them. The skeletal system performs vital functions. Such as support, movement, protection, blood cell production, calcium storage, and endocrine regulation that enable us to survive. What organs are involved? The organs that are involved in the skeletal system is mostly muscle, but there is also bones, nerves, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and joints. There is also the lungs, and intestines
