  3. Login to WordPress Dashboard • Enter the address of your site into browser • Enter user name and password • Check reCAPTCHA and select the set of images

  5. WordPress Dashboard at a Glance • Dashboard tab (highlighted in blue) is located above all other tabs of the Dashboard Menu

  6. Dashboard Menu • Left Menu contains administrative tools from the WordPress core and functionality added via plugins.

  7. Dashboard Menu Options • Hover over each button (highlighted in blue) to see what options are available

  8. Edit Your Profile • Hover over “Logged in as” on the admin bar and click “Edit My Profile”. Here you can change the Dashboard color scheme. Choose the scheme you like.

  9. Edit Your Profile • Scroll down the page to Bio, picture, email, and account password. Click the “Update Profile”button to save your changes.

  11. Select “Pages” from the Dashboard Menu • Select “All Pages” to view, edit, delete, or search pages • Select “Add New” to create a new page

  12. View all pages, edit, delete, and search • Select “Pages” from the left side menu • Hover over the page name to see the edit tools list • Click on “Edit” to get to the page content or “Quick Edit” to quickly change metadata settings

  13. The “Quick Edit” feature • Change metadata settings using text fields or drop down menus

  14. The “Quick Edit” feature • Change Page Title. Click on Author drop down menu to change the authorship.

  15. The “Quick Edit” feature • Assign parent page if needed. Choose template from the available layouts. Change status of the page. Change Page into Post if needed.

  16. Search feature • Use the Search feature to find pages

  17. Bulk Actions • Apply Bulk Actions to as many pages as you need. Filter the page • by the publishing period.

  18. Restore pages from “Trash” • First, there is another quick way to delete a page. Hover over the page name and choose “Trash”. Second, all deleted pages can be restored from “Trash” repository.

  19. Restore pages from “Trash” • Select all pages you want to restore. Choose “Restore” option from the drop down menu and click apply. Select “Pages” from the Dashboard menu to view the result.

Page Attributes • Click on “Edit” links in the “Publish” block on the right side of the page to view available options. • Change Status, Visibility, or Publish date and time if needed. • After you finished, first click “OK” and then “Publish” or “Update” button, if the page has been previuosly published.

  23. Page Attributes • You may choose to add Parent/Child relationships to your page. This will change the URL structure of the page and it will also properly display the hierarchy of pages in breadcrumbs path. • You can also choose a different layout for your page if it needs to look differently. Not recommended as a general rule.

  24. Page Attributes • You may want to exclude the page from XML Sitemap. This will exclude the page from being indexed by search engines. • “Custom Fields” block can be used for adding custom functionality such as Twitter feed. Not recommended to use unless you exactly know what implementation you need to add.

  25. Page Attributes • If the Divi Builder is not used, this panel would be the main location where you edit the text. Switch “Toolbar Toggle” on and off to expand or collapse the panel.

  27. Media Library • Hover over the “Media” button to see available options. • Select “Library” to see the media content.

  30. Create a New Page • Enter the page name • Uncheck the “Display Title on Page” option to remove the page Title if needed • Choose “Use The Divi Builder”

  32. The Divi Builder selected • Click on “Insert Column(s)” to choose the layout for page • Click on “Insert Module(s)” to choose the module type for layout

  33. Choose Layoutdepending on your needs. • Divi theme offers over 40 modules. Among most used are Text, Panel, Profile Banner, Image, Blurb, etc. • Text Module selected

  34. Type or copy and paste any text into the text editor. Use tools buttons to format the text. Use “Add Media” button to add image if needed. • Add the name of the article to “Admin Label” text field down the page for esier content maintenance.

  35. Click to add a Module for a sidebar • Select Panel Style from the drop down menu. Add the name to Heading text box. Select Icon if needed. • Add the name to “Admin Label” text field for esier content maintenance.

  36. Add text to panel’s text editor box. Select a bullet point and click on “Insert/edit link”. Click on the gear. Insert URL address and click “Add Link”. • The bullet point will be converted into hyperlink. Proceed with the rest of the text and when done click “Save & Exit”.

  37. Before saving and exiting the Panel editor • preview the page by clicking on the eye symbol. • Choose desktop, tablet or smartphone to see the result of your editing. Click on the cross to exit the preview.

  38. Check these items before hitting the “Publish” button.

Click on one of the “View page” links to view the page. • To change the subdirectory of the page name click on “Edit” under Permalink and type your custom name. • We don’t recommend using “Default Editor” because it will swipe off your Divi layout and modules. • All further updates need to be committed via “Update” button.
