  5. Connections to the modern world • This book relates to how the druglords of South America have built up their own lands and laws and control. It shows how people struggle with the limits and ethical consequences of science. In this book human cloning is a commonplace thing while today it is just a vague goal. In this way this book can open peoples mind to the discussion of the seemingly boundless reaches of science and the role that ethics plays in the ways we use or abuse our scientific abilities.
