Use of Microthermics UHT and HTST Pasteurizer

UHT pasteurization is commonly used for dairy products, juices, soups, sauces, and other beverages. It provides a commercially viable solution for preserving perishable liquids without compromising their nutritional value or sensory qualities. They offer a balance between efficiency and quality, ensuring product safety while minimizing heat-induced changes that could affect taste, texture, or nutritional value.

  1. Use of Microthermics UHT and HTST Pasteurizer

  2. Things to consider while UHT Pasteurization During UHT pasteurization, the liquid is heated to temperatures above 135°C (275°F) for a few seconds to several seconds, effectively killing any bacteria, spores, or other microorganisms present. The high temperature ensures the destruction of a wide range of pathogens, making the product safe for consumption. After the UHT treatment, the liquid is rapidly cooled and aseptically packaged in sterile containers, such as cartons or bottles. The aseptic packaging helps maintain the sterility of the product and prevents contamination from the external environment, allowing it to be stored at room temperature for an extended period, often several months.

  3. HTST pasteurizer In an HTST pasteurizer, the liquid is pumped through a heat exchanger, where it comes into contact with hot water or steam. The temperature is raised to a precise level, usually around 72°C (161°F) for milk, and held at that temperature for a defined period, typically 15-30 seconds. This process kills bacteria, yeast, and molds that may be present in the liquid.
