  1. What are tips for buying good Persian rugs? I have quite a collection of exquisite and unique Persian rugs. With their soothing hues, stunning patina and one-of-a-kind designs, they are a perfect fit for different areas in my house. However, it can get a little confusing on how to choose the right rug your needs. Here are my tips to help you choose your next Persian rug. Check The material ● Handwoven Persian rugs are usually made of silk, wool, or a silk-wool blend. Pure silk rugs come with a glossy finish. But the most commonly used material in Persian rugs is wool which holds up well in high traffic areas in your home.

  2. The Knot Count ● One of the most important characteristics to look out for when buying a Persian rug is its knot count. A good-quality rug will consist of nearly 120 knots per square inch. You can check the knot count by flipping the rug over and looking at its knots from the backside. Consider Your Budget ● The cost of Persian rugs varies greatly depending on the material. The silk rugs are at the higher end and wool rugs at the lower due to wool being sourced easily. As well, the higher the knot count the higher the price tag. This is why I recommend you set your budget first. Decide Where it Will be Placed ● Before you buy a Persian rug, decide where it will be placed. If it will be placed in a high-traffic area then choose a wool Persian rug. In a bedroom, a silk Persian rug as it does see as much foot traffic. I usually prefer buying my Persian rugs from The Rug District they offer great quality rugs and have many unique patterns and designs. Hope this helps!
