  1. Ways to make your wedding feel more expensive. This week has been really busy here at The Wedding Parlour signing up vendors ready for our official website launch in July. We have so many exciting things coming your way, we cannot wait to bring them to you. We have been thinking a lot about wedding budgets, no matter how big or small every bride wants to make their budget stretch that little bit further and would like her wedding to have that luxury look and feel. Finding resourceful ways to create your dream wedding on a budget is a task that most brides take on full-force so we have put together some fantastic ideas to help give your wedding that lavish feel without breaking the bank. We hope you find something useful. ·Have a DIY photo booth. A wedding is all about pictures and a photo booth can make your wedding feel personalised and extravagant. Doing a DIY photo booth with your wedding photographer can save money on renting a booth and accessories for photos can be sourced at little cost online or in local shops. ·Make double use of your flowers

  2. The cost of flowers can really add up, to get that luxurious look for less make the most of your flowers by getting them to work doubly hard for you. If you have flowers decorating your ceremony venue you can also use these in the reception décor as well giving you beautiful centrepieces without paying double the price. By letting your florist know ahead of the time that the flowers will have a dual purpose they can make something beautiful and versatile for you. Bridesmaid bouquets can also be incorporated into table arrangements as post-ceremony they will most likely be replaced by a glass of champagne in your bridesmaid’s hand. Use candles and lanterns to fill spaces The fuller your tables, the more expensive they’ll look; it’s that simple. Don’t want to size down to tiny centrepieces or substitute cheap flowers to achieve the look? Ask your florist to create smaller arrangements that can be alternated with candles and lanterns to make the table look full whilst using less blooms. Candles and lanterns are an inexpensive option and create a lovely sense of ambience, making sure to vary heights and sizes will create dimension and keep the eye flowing throughout the room. ·Go a little longer than floor length with your table linens A simple but effective tip – pooling linens gives a more luxurious, opulent look. ·Use your meal as a centrepiece Incorporating food into table settings has become a huge trend in party décor. It’s an easy and affordable way to create an original and stylish centrepiece. By styling tables with unusual bread baskets, bottles of wine and artisans cheeses and nibbles you can create an original and unusual focal point. Add some candles and perhaps some strategically placed fruit and you can end up with something both practical and beautiful. ·Pretty up your plates It’s all in the details. Lay a single sprig of lavender, a beautiful place card, a menu or a simple thank you note from the heart on each setting. Remembering the small touches can make any place setting seem more luxurious. ·When in Doubt, Opt for Simplicity Embrace minimalism if you are working with a strict budget. Opt for a simple and elegant colour theme, soft neutral colours such as white, ivory and all shades of grey will make your wedding breakfast seem like a classic, simple dinner party that will really stand out instead of an OTT restaurant. ·Double the impact of your flower arrangements Double the impact without adding to the budget. Place your arrangements in front of a mirror and the reflection will create an ultra-lush effect.

  3. ·Let your table runner do the talking. Adding texture is one of the quickest (and easiest) ways to make any table look and feel more expensive. A basic linen topped by a table runner or overlay in a textured pattern or solid colour will give the illusion of a pricey linen without all the extra cost. ·Calligraphy Calligraphy looks and feels elegant and doesn’t have to be expensive. If you are using a professional, rather than having them hand write all your stationery, have them create one that you love and make a digital copy which can be printed at a local printers. If you are feeling arty there stencils and prints which can be used to make beautiful and elegant cards and signs. For an elegant look use calligraphy to spell out table numbers (six instead of 6).
