    2. Solid Waste Management Plan Johnson County is responsible for providing collection and disposal of all solid waste generated in Co. Our Plan calls for increasing the recycling rate for residential, commercial and industry.

    3. Meat and Potatoes of Sustainability Prevent pollution from entering our water systems. Protect co-workers from harmful chemicals. Recycle materials.

    4. Go Beyond your Daily Efforts Increase recycling in your organization. Promote the reuse of materials. Reduce consumption.

    5. Why? Prolong the Life of Landfills Johnson County Landfill will close in 2027 or sooner due to capacity. No new landfills are likely in our region. Costs will rise faster than we like. This is not about hugging trees. Recycling Saves you MONEY.
