History of Quran Al- Quran comes from the Arabic root and its means “recitation” It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad by Angel Gabriel over period of 23 Years. Holy Quran was written by companions of prophet Muhammad while he was alive, it was compiled in time of first khalifah and standardized in the time of third.
Revelation of Quran • Holy Quran was revealed piecemeal through out the period of 23 years. • The first revelation start in 610 CE, in the Cave of Hira and complete in 632 CE. • Holy Quran is Division in equal 30 parts and 114 chapters. • The entire Holy Quran has 6666 verses.
Importance of Quran • The Holy Quran is considered the eternal miracle of Islam. • Holy Quran is Divine book last guidance book from God. • In short Holy Quran provides all the guidance that humanity need. • Holy Quran is word of God on which God pronouns.
Importance of Fatihah • This is summary of Holy Quran and rest of the Quran is its elaboration. • The Holy Quran begins with it and prescribed prayers is also begin with it. • This is the first surah which was revealed in complete form. • Numerated more then 70 names for this surah.
Interpretation of Fatihah • Muslims believe that the Qur'an is a revelation from God in the Arabic language. • Translations into other languages are considered by many to be merely superficial "interpretations" of the meanings and not authentic versions of the Qur'an. • The Arabic text with translation in English is as follows.
Virtues of Fatihah • One Hadith naratted by Abu Hurayrah in which he mention the talk of Prophet and Ubayy, ( Would you like to teach you a surah the likes of which nothing has been revealed in Tawrah, the Injil the Zabur(psalm) or the Furqan) (Quran) • In this Hadith indicating this is that greatest like this not revealed in other divine books not in Quran it self.
Bismillāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm 1:1 بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمـَنِ الرَّحِيم In the name of Allahthe most Beneficent, the Merciful 1:2 الْحَمْدُ للّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِين Al ḥamdu lillāhi rabbi l-'ālamīn Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds
1:3 الرَّحْمـنِ الرَّحِيم Ar raḥmāni r-raḥīm The Beneficent, the Merciful 1:4 مَـالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّين Māliki yawmi d-dīn Owner of the Day of Judgement
1:5 إِيَّاك نَعْبُدُ وإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِين Iyyāka na'budu wa iyyāka nasta'īn You alone we worship, and You we ask for help. 1:6 اهدِنَــــا الصِّرَاطَ المُستَقِيمَ Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm Show us the straight path,
1:7 صِرَاطَ الَّذِينَ أَنعَمتَ عَلَيهِمْ غَيرِ المَغضُوبِ عَلَيهِمْ وَلاَ الضَّالِّين Ṣirāṭ al-laḏīna an'amta 'alayhim ġayril maġḍūbi 'alayhim walāḍ ḍāllīn The path of those on whom you bestowed your Grace, Not the (path) of those who earn your anger nor of those who go astray.
Subject of Fatihah • This Surah teach us how we seek over Lord and way of teaching is chosen by God. • Main Theme of this Surah. • Result of those they obey God and those went astray or earn anger of God.
This was first chapter of Quran in which God address to every one pray God and save your self from going astray.
