  2. Sorcery • Mnemonic Device: Sorcery is not EC, it is CE. • Meaning: the arts, practices and spells of magic or black magic. • Sentence: Many believe that Jack used sorcery to kill the giant.

  3. Baffle • Mnemonic Device: I burnt the first part of my waffle, so it became Baffle. • Meaning:1. Totally bewilder or perplex • 2. restrain or regulate • 3. device to stop flow of a fluid or gas • Sentence: The story of “Jack and the beanstalk” baffled me because of its stupidity and simplicity.

The amount by which something is too small. • 2.The amount of score in which a team is losing. • 3. a deficiency or failing • Sentence: The old man was facing many financial deficits because of Jack.

  10. Serviceable • Mnemonic Device: Service+able • Meaning: 1. fulfilling its function adequately, useful • 2. In working order • Sentence: After Jack’s hen laid all of it’s golden eggs, it was no longer serviceable.

  11. Ordinates • Mnemonic Device: You have no RYT to make an ORDINARY TEST. • Meaning: The y-coordinate of a point: its distance from the x-axis measured parallel to the y-axis. • Sentence: After Jack had dropped out of school, he killed all of his teachers that taught him about ordinates.
