  2. Dashboard is the brand new organizing platform for President Obama’s 2012 campaign. If you’re hoping to make an impact on this election, it’s where you need to be.

  3. http://www.barackobama.com/ To sign up for Dashboard, click on the “Get Involved” tab (top right) and then on the drop down, type in your street address & zip code and click on “Join Dashboard.”

  5. When you join Dashboard you will be asked to fill out your Profile. The information will be used to create your personal page in Dashboard. You can always go back to revise your Profile. There are a number of pages to fill out.

  6. After you join you can log in to Dashboard via facebook or type in your email and password.

  7. At the top of the webpage you see 13 squares, which are links to the other sections of Dashboard. We are going to click through all the squares to view the tools and information offered by this social platform. Sections: Latest Activity(Feeds) My Team Report Activity Resources People My Messages Make Calls Votebuilder Numbers Groups Events Grassroots Fundraising Get Fired Up

  9. This page is also accessible from the “Dashboard” square of the same name. You can always get back to “Dashboard” by clicking on “Dashboard “ up in the left hand corner of the header. COUNTDOWN & VIDEOS THAT CAN BE SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA

HELP RAISE FUNDS ~ • You can start your own fundraiser among your family and friends by sending messages to them via email, facebook and twitter. • You can edit your page • Click on “Resources” for a video and a series of links to information about campaign issues. • This page is also accessible from the “Dashboard” square, “Grassroots Fundraising.” • You can always get back to “Dashboard” by clicking on “Dashboard “ up in the left hand corner of the header.

  11. You can join a variety of Groups for Obama. Click on “Suggested Groups” for a long list of interest groups. You can also create your own special group. Click on “Create a Group.” This page is also accessible from the “Dashboard” square “Groups.” You can always get back to “Dashboard” by clicking on “Dashboard “ up in the left hand corner of the header.

  13. This is an example of a group page ~ “Ohio Women For Obama.” The page has: List the leadership List discussions List the membership Link to Social Media Activity feed

  14. This page is also accessible from the “Dashboard” page. You can always get back to “Dashboard” by clicking on “Dashboard “ up in the left hand corner of the header.

  15. We are going to look at each section going from top, left to right, etc. We will start with “Last Activity.”

  18. There are four “Team Centervilles”:

  19. Need to find a time or would you like to see how the national campaign is organized? Click on “Find a team.” HQ Team > Great Lakes-Mid Atlantic Region > Ohio > Western Ohio > Niki Vonderwell’s Region > Natalie Hulla’s Turf > Teams Centerville.

  20. Team Events are listed as well as Nearby Events. The right column has all the items in the right column for the Team Centerville Steel Blue homepage. Click on the event.

  21. Each member of the Team has his/her own page.

  22. The next Square on the “Dashboard” main page is “Report Activity.” Individual members can report their activity. The activity of the team can also be reported daily.

  23. The next Square is “Resources.” There are resources (documents) for the Team and also from “Ohio women for Obama,” a group I belong to. Click on “Best Practices.” Here's where you can learn about organizing events, sharing best practices with campaign volunteers and staff from across the country.

  24. The next “Square” is “Members.” We’ve seen a version of this page before (3rd tab on the “Team Centerville Page.” You can invite your friends to join Dashboard and work for the campaign.

  25. The next “Square” is “My Messages.”

  26. I can send a personal email, a Team Centerville Steel Blue email, or an email to my group, “Ohio Women for Obama.”

  27. The next “Square” is “Make Calls.” You can phone call using the information found in this section of Dashboard. Calls are made based on campaign issues.

  28. The “Call Tool” lists a person to call with his/her phone number. There are campaign issues you can choose from a drop down menu. A script is provided for you. After you call “Save and Continue” at the bottom of the page. You will be given another person to call. You can invite your friends to make calls via facebook, twitter, or email.

  29. The next “Square “ is “Votebuilder.” You can only access “Votebuilder” if you have an account.

  30. The Next “Square” is “Hard Numbers.”

  31. We have clicked through all 13 sections of Dashboard!

  32. You can click on “Dashboard Help” at the bottom of the page if you have any problems or questions. Most of the pages in Dashboard have a “Help” link up in the right hand corner next to “Find a Team.”
