  3. Training times together in the spring helped the team prepare for their ministry in Ukraine

  4. On Thursday, June 22, 10 team members met at Exeter Chapel to drive down to JFK Airport

  5. Alvina, our Canadian team member, met us at JFK with a smile!

  6. Our international journey had begun!

  7. In Kiev, we changed terminals…several times…

  8. Then, we were on our way to Simferopol, our final stop

  9. Were we ever happy to see Larry waiting for us at the airport!

  10. Praise God! We finally arrived at Yalta Baptist Church!

  11. Team members slept in rooms at the church…

  12. …2 or 3 in each room

  13. We ate our meals together in the same room where we had classes

  14. Anya cheerfully fixed all of our meals and washed all of the dishes

  15. Breakfast…

  16. Lunch… we had soup every day

  17. And supper…

  18. On Saturday we spent most of the day setting up the classroom…

  19. Boy, were those computers heavy!

  20. We also had a team meeting…

  21. …and worked on lesson plans

  22. Then we were off to the bank to exchange our money

  23. So we could begin shopping for souvenirs

  24. Vera came down from Kiev to translate for us the entire time. She works at a university as a technical English teacher and did a fantastic job!

  25. On Sunday we attended services at the church

  26. Larry preached during the morning service…

  27. Bob spoke in the evening service

  28. And several gave their testimonies…

  29. Our daily team meetings gave opportunity for prayer and planning

  30. Monday morning registration brought in more students than we could fit in the class…

  31. …the decision was made to add a 3rd class each day

  32. Most of the students learned about the classes from a poster placed on telephone poles in town

  33. Benjamin and Larry welcomed everyone…

  34. We team-taught various segments from the front of class…

  35. …while teachers helped 2-3 students at each computer station

  36. “This is a mouse.”

  37. “And this is your keyboard.”

  38. After about an hour and a half of teaching, one of the team members shared a devotional

  39. …and one of us shared a testimony each day

  40. Students listened intently…

  41. Time for snacks…

  42. Then it was time to get back to class…

  43. …and more tutoring…

  44. The team taught for 9 hours each day…

  45. …getting to know their students…
