  1. Identifying Syntactical Errors • Grammar Identified by a Blue squiggle line in Word or by a proofreader. Typical syntactical errors include: • Run on Sentences • Duplicate Words • Improper capitalizations • Improper punctuation

  2. Handling Syntactical Errors • Fix by deleting incorrect text and inserting correct word, phrase, or punctuation • The previous text is shown as a strike through • The updated text is shown as a change selection • The Decision maker is responsible for accepting or rejecting the change

  3. Content and Clarity • Most useful Collaboration • Reviewers can • Offer suggestions within the document • Annotate document with comments

  4. In Text Changes: • Like Spelling or Syntactical changes: • Delete and insert • Used most by technical writers • Decision Maker responsible for accepting and rejecting changes

  5. Annotation • Insert question or comment in the margin • No changes to text • Initiate brainstorming • Best for questions of research or clarity • Used most by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

  6. Finalizing Document Changes • Completed by Decision Maker • Person assigned the request • Review suggestions • All changes • All comments • Accept or Reject Changes Submit to Requestor for approval/suggestions • Address requestor questions/suggestions • Practice Now
