Look at long-term (3-5 years) and short-term goals (1-2 years) • Long term goals • Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by 25% within 2 years; Increase the number of students participating in science fairs by 35% within 4 years • By year 5, have affiliated fair that will expand to include Rockland and Orange county, NY • Implement science inquiry in secondary schools by year 3, inquiry based lab site year 4 and implement inquiry in middle schools year 5 • Short term goals • Start a new fair in Spring of 2013, managed by Lehman • Five high schools, 50-75 student participants • Inquiry based teaching and learning PD for teachers • Plan A: request affiliation waiver from SSP for 2013 • Plan B: hold Bronx SciFest in advance of affiliated NYCSEF and request top 10-15 students advance to final round of NYCSEF
