Background • Project started by North Claybelt CFDC in 2001 with “Break into Business Camp” , a CEED Initiative • Successful youth camps at Camp Cadanac for two years • Audit of the Teen Camp Jeunes Entrepreneurs in Quebec • Audit by the North Eastern CFDCs of our initiative • A cooperative effort by the 5 CFDCs to pilot our Regional “Youth Enterprise Camp”
Camp Objectives: • Provide Campers with a fun and exciting introduction to the world of entrepreneurship • Enable Campers to complete a business plan, start, run and close down their business in one day • Encourage campers to use their imagination and think outside the box • Encourages campers to see entrepreneurship as a future viable career option
The four components are: Idea generation Planning and getting ready Running the business Debriefing the experience The key element of the camp is the ‘Business for a Day” experience.
