Algonquins. By : Jack Frosties. What their homes look like. The Algonquins lived in wigwams which were small houses that were built for each family. Wigwams were made of young trees bent into cones, rounded domes ,and rectangular shapes.

What their homes look like • The Algonquins lived in wigwams which were small houses that were built for each family. • Wigwams were made of young trees bent into cones, rounded domes ,and rectangular shapes. • They had holes at the top of the wigwams to let out smoke from the fires. • For a door they put deer or bear skins on the wigwams. • Only one family lived in the wigwam.

  3. Who lived there? • Men ,woman , and children lived there.

  4. What was the village like? • At the end of each village the Algonquins built sweat lodges . One was for men and one was for women . • The Algonquins lived in clans . • Among the Algonquin tribe , a council of men was chose by women . Women also chose a chief . • The men teach there childernto hunt and fish. • There homes the wigwams are made out of stks.
