CTMA Focus CTMA Basics • Cooperative agreement between NCMS & OADUSD (MP&P) • Requires 2:1 industry/government cost match • DoD-wide; produces joint service results • Requires commitment by at least two services • 41 DoD organizations participate on projects • Provides an estimated ROI of 20 to 1 • Average technology transition is 18 months to IOC and 24 months to benefit realization • Transitioning from congressionally-directed to individual service-funded program • Transition commercially available technology (TRL Level 6+) versus inventing new technology • Rapid and relevant response to maintainers needs • Provide Innovative industrial capability • Further maintenance effectiveness and efficiency • Enable expeditionary maintenance • Outcome Focused: • Reduce cost of sustaining weapons systems • Reduce repair cycle time • Improve readiness and reliability 2

Improved Readiness and Reliability • Automated Intensifier Measurement System (AIMS) (TYAD, NSWC – Crane; Penn State EOC) • Automated test equipment to test the demilitarized image intensifier tubes returned from the field. • Performs all optical A-tests in approximately 10 minutes versus two hours manually
