  1. The Peer Review for the CI Outline Be sure you have your partner’s outline! You will want to complete the tasks on the next few slides in detail. Please be sure you write your name at the bottom of the first page so that you get credit for your review!

  2. First, take a minute and carefully read through your partner’s paper . . .

  3. Peer Review of the CI Outline • Choose a highlighter and make a key (highlight the word MOREat the top of the page). Go through the outline and highlight any sections where you want to know more about the topic/section. • Choose another highlighter color and make a key (highlight the word LESSat the top of the page). Go through the outline and highlight any sections where you think the writer needs to tone it down because it has too much information.

  4. Peer Review of the CI Outline • Choose another highlighter color and highlight any words that you don’t know what they mean. Remember, some topics come with jargon – we want to be sure we clarify! • Using that same highlighter color squiggle over any awkward spots/grammar errors/weird issues you want to bring to the attention of the writer.

  5. Peer Review of the CI Outline I doubt . . . • Go to the back of one of the outline pages and at the top write: I doubt. • Skim through your partner’s paper and make a list of at least five different claims that you can doubt that the writer makes. In essence, you are making a list of every argument you can make against the writer. (It doesn’t matter whether you believe or note – look to poke some holes in the argument!)

  6. Peer Review of the CI Outline Meet individually with your partner and complete the following: Go through your I Doubt list for your partner. Brainstorm with your partner potential support areas or ideas to help make those arguments even stronger. (One caveat: it doesn’t matter whether you actually believe or even doubt each other’s arguments – you are just role playing this discussion and possible nay-sayers to help strengthen each other’s work.)

  7. A few documents to help you . . . I have hard copies of both of these for you!
