What is a PLC? • A group of professional dedicated to one specific purpose which you use to identify goals and monitor progress of students to insure academic achievement.
Why is needed? • To insure that all students learn to mastery.
Necessary Components • Common Purpose • Ground Rules • Role Assignments (Facilitator, Task Master, Note Taker, Time Keeper, etc.) • Goals or objectives • Progress monitoring • Sharing Ideas, planning for a purpose
Consider • Goal 1: This year preschoolers will increase by at least one checkpoint for Math benchmark 1.1 at each checkpoint period as measured by Teaching Strategies Gold 20a, b, c • Strategies and action steps to meet Goal: • Review data monthly to adequately provide support to students. • We will intentionally address numbers/operations and data teaching strategies to focus on areas of concerns. • Progress Monitoring Sheets.
