Assessment of Camphor Tree Threat Level and Management Strategy in National Sites

The camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) poses a potential threat in the national areas, classified as major to moderate. The current status indicates that the species is being monitored routinely and is controlled through manual removal and herbicide application on foliage, stems, or soil. Abundant young trees have been documented, while mature specimens have been removed from 2011-2012, especially in NATL-west and NATL-east areas. A cluster of 14 trees north of the EYN/NEM building is scheduled for removal to ensure ecosystem balance.
